The opportunity

Enterprise Graphics Ltd is a small family-run design company.

As with all businesses, communication is an essential part of their infrastructure, however cost saving and return on investment is paramount for a small business.

The existing comms infrastructure was a culmination of several years growth with a number of providers and contracts. 1RedCube was engaged to deliver an end to end comms package.

Enterprise Graphics had three separate analogue lines, on ISDN, separate broadband provider and two different mobile phone networks.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The solution

With cost reduction and flexibility being key drivers, a Hosted VoIP solution was the perfect fit.

Two of the four existing BT lines were removed along with the existing broadband account. Griffin broadband was provisioned on the remaining two lines to enable independent voice and data circuits, the analogue fax line/fax machine were replaced with a fax to email service enabling faxes to be delivered to an email distribution group ensuring that vital proofs were delivered to the right people at the right time and in the right format.

The office was provided with three Cicso 7960 handsets with a two port Cisco ATA 188 running two DECT cordless phones in the factory. The two directors were provided with Cisco 7960 handsets in their home offices, enabling full PBX functionality and free calls between home, the office and the factory.

Softphones were provided for the designers to ensure a complete comms solution whilst off site.

All existing telephone and fax numbers were ported to the Hosted platform to ensure nil disruption to business.

1RedCube analysed the existing mobile phone accounts and streamlined them into a single business account, delivering significant cost savings.

The benefits

Costs were reduced by removal of two unnecessary lines and the new broadband circuit delivered higher performance for less cost. Monthly billing was streamlined to just three providers and practically reduced to a fixed cost through effective allocation of free usage for mobile and office calls.

The use of hunt groups for each client/project enabled each call to be answered appropriately, the name of the line called and the name/number of the caller being displayed to the recipient proved invaluable.

Softphones enabled seamless communication between Head Office and clients; extension dialing and free calls from any location improved productivity and reduced costs.

The flexibility of Hosted VoIP delivered the power of fixed line telecoms but could be moved from location to location immediately and without cost, an essential for a business heavily dependant on third party support.
